Sunil picks me up promptly at 0900. He’s from Kerala, but he’s been in Mumbai for a while.

He tells me he first started working for a German company as a day laborer. They saw potential in him and taught him to drive, after which he became the private driver for an executive for 3 years until they were moved to Singapore. They had wanted to bring him with them, but the company already had drivers in Singapore He then found work for an American company and has been bouncing around ever since.
